Over a month ago swapped my cotton pillowcase for a silk pillowcase and now I don’t think I could ever switch from it. Not only is the silk extremely comfortable but it’s got some amazing beauty benefits.
Firstly I’ll talk about the pillowcase I got which is from Ecosa, I paid $69AUD (On offer, usual price is $99AUD) for two which I think is an amazing price.
Benefits of their pillowcases stated on their website:
– Anti sleep crease, The Ecosa Silk Pillowcase allows your skin to glide when sleeping, whereas cotton tugs and scratches delicate facial skin which can result in premature aging and sleep-crease.
– Temperature Regulator, Our silk pillowcases are temperature regulating which means that it is warm and cosy in winter and comfortably cool when temperatures rise. Its natural temperature-regulating properties give silk this paradoxical ability to cool and warm simultaneously.
– Hypoallergenic, Silk is the most hypoallergenic of all fabrics meaning people with allergies and asthma are not irritated by our silk pillowcases. Soothing for hair and skin for a comforting night’s sleep.
– Earth Friendly, Our Silk pillowcases are natural, renewable, biodegradable, and compostable
I’ve bleached my hair quite a bit so if I don’t properly take care of my hair it does get extremely dry and frizzy. I have to say that I genuinely do see a huge difference once I swapped pillowcases. Silk cases are said to help with split ends as well, I cut my hair a few weeks ago so I haven’t noticed it much.
Also, I sleep on my stomach most of the time or on my side, either way my face is always on the pillow & I’ve always been worried that my skin would tug on the pillowcase. I realised I spend so much money and time on products trying to prevent ageing, there really isn’t any point in going through all that trouble because at the end of the day I’m still going to put my face on a pillowcase that’s going to give me lines, which silk cases prevent. This has been the biggest and most noticeable change since switching to a silk pillowcase because my skin doesn’t grip onto my pillow, reducing any lines.
It can be a little bit pricey if you find a good one, it took me a while to convince myself to spend the money on it but I just thought I would spend that kind of money on a skincare product and this is basically the same thing! I never thought I’d actually care about pillowcases but I definitely think silk pillowcases are the way to go!
